• National Telecommunications and Information Administration

The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), located within the Department of Commerce, is the Executive Branch agency that is principally responsible by law for advising the President on telecommunications and information policy issues.

• Office of Technology and Electronic Commerce

The Office of Technology and Electronic Commerce (OTEC) is located in the Manufacturing and Services division of the U.S. Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration. OTEC has three teams: Electronic Commerce, Information Technology, and Telecommunications.

• Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication
• Non-profit educational society which promotes research, high standards, and freedom of expression. Publishes Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly, Journalism and Mass Communication Editor, Journalism and Communication Monographs.
• The International Communication Association

  An academic association for scholars interested in the study, teaching, and application of all aspects of human and mediated communication. ICA began more than 50 years ago as a small association of U.S. researchers and is now a truly international association with more than 3,500 members in 65 countries. Since 2003, ICA has been officially associated with the United Nations as a non-governmental association (NGO).
• The National Communication Association

  Advances communication as the discipline that studies all forms, modes, media and consequences of communication through humanistic, social scientific and aesthetic inquiry. The NCA serves the scholars, teachers, and practitioners who are its members by enabling and supporting their professional interests in research and teaching. Dedicated to fostering and promoting free and ethical communication, the NCA promotes the widespread appreciation of the importance of communication in public and private life, the application of competent communication to improve the quality of human life and relationships, and the use of knowledge about communication to solve human problems.
